Triumph in Mathematics: A Stellar Achievement at CIMC and CSMC! 合肥加拿大外籍人员子女学校

It is with immense pride and joy that we announce a remarkable achievement in the field of mathematics. Our students have shown extraordinary prowess in the University of Waterloo's Canadian Intermediate Mathematics Contest (CIMC) and Canadian Senior Mathematics Contest (CSMC), held on November 16th, 2023.

The CIMC and CSMC, organized by the University of Waterloo, are among the most esteemed mathematics competitions in Canada. They challenge young mathematicians to explore and enjoy mathematics at a deeper level, with rigorous and thought-provoking questions that test not just mathematical knowledge, but also the ability to apply logic and problem-solving skills in novel ways.

This year, 14 of our talented students participated in these contests. I am thrilled to share that an unprecedented 50% of our participants - 7 brilliant young minds - have been awarded the coveted Distinction Award. Achieving a Distinction Award in these contests is a significant achievement, as it requires reaching a high cutoff score set by the University, indicative of exceptional mathematical skill and understanding.

Moreover, our celebration extends further as two of our Distinction awardees have achieved the highest honor - they are the top scorers in their respective categories, earning them an honorary medal for their outstanding performance. This accomplishment is especially commendable and showcases the high caliber of talent nurtured at our school.

The Canadian International School is incredibly proud of all its participants. Your achievements are a reflection of your hard work, our school's commitment to academic excellence, and the supportive environment we provide for our students to flourish.
