Matthew Facey

Matthew W. Facey is from St. John’s, Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada. He graduated from Memorial University of Newfoundland and Labrador with an honors Bachelor of Education Degree (BEd.) (Primary/Elementary Education Major) (Dean’s List), 2008, as well as a Bachelor of Science Degree (BSc.) (Psychology Major), 1996. He also graduated from the Information Technology Institute (I.T.I.), Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada with an honors Diploma in Applied Information Technology (AIT), 1999. He is currently studying a Master of Education (MEd. - Educational Leadership Studies), 2024. He speaks French fluently, and has a proficient level in spoken Thai.

During his 20+ years in the Education field, he has worked 10 years in Bangkok, Thailand, 1 year in the Middle East (Doha, Qatar), and 10 years in China. This is his 6th year at CISH. He has primarily taught primary school years, but has also taught High School (Biology, General Sciences, ICT, Physical Education, and Art), and Middle School (several various subjects). He is passionate about teaching and the holistic development of the students in his charge. He loves to incorporate art, sports and music into his lessons to accommodate the diversity of his students’ skills, abilities, proficiency levels, learner profiles and desires.
