What We Do

Our PK program for children aged 20 months to 3 years old is designed around age-appropriate practices. At this early stage, our focus is on nurturing curiosity, fostering social interactions, and developing foundational skills through play-based learning. We create a warm, supportive environment where children can explore the world around them, encouraging them to express themselves and interact with others in meaningful ways.

While our PreK program doesn't include the structured Units of Inquiry found in the PYP, it is thoughtfully designed to prepare young learners for the transition to the PYP curriculum as they grow. The practices we use are consistent with the PYP's emphasis on inquiry, creativity, and holistic development, ensuring that even our youngest students are on a path to becoming confident, independent learners.

In K1-K3, our curriculum is inquiry-focused and play-based, designed to be child-centered and to encourage independent learning in a warm, safe, and caring environment. Throughout the year, children explore four Units of Inquiry (five Units of Inquiry for K3). These units are transdisciplinary, meaning they integrate different subjects to create a more holistic learning experience. In addition to the inquiry units, children work on the curriculum standards in Math and Language Arts, Music, PSPE, Art, and the additional language through symbolic exploration benefiting from the learning experiences offered by their homeroom and specialist teachers. As the year progresses, more information about the curriculum is provided to parents.

Our approach is different from that of mainland Chinese schools, as we do not rely on a single textbook. Instead, we use a wide variety of resources, books, materials, and equipment to enrich each child’s learning experience.
