After-School Activities at CISH

CISH provides diverse after-school activities led by teachers and external professional coaches or organizations. Past and current offerings include football, robotics, science club, drawing, swimming, volleyball, basketball, musicals, arts and crafts, and more. All teacher-led activities are free, and the activities offered by external coaches are paid ASA's.

The after-school activity program is updated each semester to reflect student interests and teacher availability of activities. At the start of every semester, the students and parents can choose their ASA's via Schools Buddy.

House program

At CISH, our House system is an integral part of school life, playing a key role in building a strong sense of community, fostering collaboration, and creating meaningful connections across all age groups. The House system goes beyond friendly competition; it encourages students to engage in teamwork, develop leadership skills, and take pride in contributing to their House and the broader school community.

Each of our Houses is named after a bird of prey, symbolizing traits we value and strive to nurture in our students:

· Eagles: Representing strength, determination, and the ability to rise above challenges.

· Hawks: Symbolizing precision, focus, and keen observation.

· Falcons: Known for their speed, agility, and adaptability in dynamic situations.

· Condors: Emblematic of resilience, teamwork, and the spirit of soaring to great heights.

Upon joining CISH, every student and staff member is assigned to a House

Collaborative Efforts Across Departments

The House Department collaborates closely with other departments to create cross-curricular and enriching experiences. These collaborations include:

· Math Activities: Engaging students in problem-solving challenges with a House-based approach.

· House Drama Plays: Encouraging creativity and teamwork as students bring stories to life on stage.

· House Sports Days: Promoting physical fitness, healthy competition, and sportsmanship.

· Seasonal Events: Christmas activities strengthen the bonds within and between houses.

Why the House System Matters

The House system provides students a platform to showcase their talents, participate in diverse activities, and develop essential life skills. It teaches teamwork, perseverance, and mutual respect while offering opportunities for leadership and personal growth. By uniting students from different grades, the system encourages a supportive environment where older students mentor younger ones, fostering a culture of care and inclusivity.

In addition to enhancing school spirit and a sense of belonging, the House system celebrates individual and collective achievements, motivating students to strive for academic and personal excellence. At CISH, the Houses are more than just groups, they are families that inspire every member to soar higher together.
