Making the Connection: The PYP Framework

Nurturing Curiosity at Home
Encourage questions: Welcome your child’s “why” and “how” questions, explore answers together rather than giving quick responses.
Create a wonder wall: Keep a small board or notebook where your child can draw or write things they’re curious about.
Explore together: Visit parks, museums, markets, or nature trails, real-life experiences spark authentic inquiry.
Read and wonder: Read stories and pause to ask, “What do you think will happen next?” or “Why do you think the character did that?”
Model curiosity: Let your child see you exploring new things or learning something new curiosity is contagious!
Parents will

Explore the key elements of the PYP framework (concepts, skills, learner profile, action, and agency).
Recognize how inquiry nurtures curiosity, critical thinking, and lifelong learning habits.
Reflect on how they can support inquiry and agency at home.
