SCHOOL UNIFORMS

The CISH uniform is an important element of school life. We believe the uniform can help to create a sense of community. When worn properly it generates a shared identity among students and can help instill a sense of pride in our school. Having a uniform helps students to focus on their work and activities while at school, rather than their appearance. It encourages positive social interactions among students by building unity rather than competition about looks. It also makes life a little easier for parents!   

CISH Students - Wear your uniform with pride as you represent our amazing community!  

Students are required to wear a school uniform at all times during the day.  The school administration reserves the right to decide if clothing and/or appearance conveys a message contrary to the philosophy of the school uniform code.  

Important note: All students must write their names in their uniforms.  We often find lost articles around the school and it is difficult to return them to their owner if the name is not written on the designated tag. 

How to Order Student Uniforms 

CISH uniforms are available through our supplier, Basic Elite.  You may purchase CISH uniform items directly from the supplier through their  online platform. 

If at any time you need help with ordering uniform elements, you may contact Basic Elite directly through their hotline, which provides service in English and Chinese.  You may also contact the CISH Admissions Office for support.  

CISH Official Daily Uniform for Grades 1 to 12

The Daily Uniform for Grades 1 to 12 is to be worn on regular school days. 

Grade 1 to 12 Daily Uniform elements and guidelines:

• Top: Maroon CISH uniform polo shirt or long-sleeved polo shirt, depending on the weather. Shirts may be tucked in to the pants or skort/skirt or left out in a relaxed look. If an undershirt is worn, it must be plain white, grey, or black with no designs or patterns on it. 

• Bottom: Plaid or grey CISH uniform skort/skirt, grey uniform shorts or grey uniform pants. Skorts/Skirts must be worn no shorter than the top of the knee. Students may wear CISH legwarmers or white, grey or black leggings in cool weather. Leggings with non-CISH designs or patterns are not permitted. Non-uniform bottoms are not permitted. 

• Footwear: Neat-looking sneakers or dress shoes. Students are not permitted to wear flip-flops, cleats, sandals, high-heeled shoes or open-toed shoes. Footwear should not be too extravagant. Shoes with wheels, lights or sounds are not permitted. Safety should be considered when selecting footwear. Socks should be simple white, black or grey without designs or patterns on them. 

• Outer Wear: CISH hoodie, jacket, sweater and blazer are optional items that can be worn with the daily uniform. No shirts, sweaters, jackets, etc. other than official CISH clothing may be worn. On cold days students may wear a coat that is not an official CISH uniform item but this must be taken off in the building.

Formal Uniform Items

Formal uniform items, which include the maroon CISH blazer, white shirt and a tie are also available for purchase.  Formal uniform elements are only required for special days and events throughout the year.  Students may wear formal uniform elements at any time they choose, mixing and matching them with the standard required elements. 

Uniform for EY

The Daily Uniform described above is recommended but not mandatory for EY students on regular school days. 

CISH PE Uniform for Grades 1 to 12

Students in Grades 1 to 5 must wear the CISH PE uniform to school on days that they participate in PE classes. 

Students in Grades 6 to 12 must wear the CISH PE uniform during PE classes only. 

Grade 1 to 12 PE Uniform elements and guidelines:

Top: CISH PE uniform shirt.

Bottom: CISH PE uniform shorts.

Footwear: Sneakers, Running shoes or Tennis shoes. Safety should be considered when selecting footwear. 

Additional Items: The official CISH tracksuit jacket and pants should be worn with the regular PE uniform when the temperature gets cold. 

House Spirit Days  

Students are encouraged to wear their designated House shirt or hoodie on Wednesdays in lieu of the regular uniform top.   House shirts or hoodies should be worn for all house events such as Sports Day. 

MYP/DP Recess 

• Grade 6-10: The official CISH PE kit or CISH-branded sports clothing must be worn.   

• Grade 11-12: As students no longer have scheduled PE lessons, they may wear any appropriate sports clothing.  

Special Activities

Uniforms will be worn on all school field trips except with the authorization of the Head of School and/or Principal for a specific activity that requires alternative clothing.
