CISH Cafeteria Service

CISH employs a cafeteria food service provider, LoveWay, that provides breakfast and lunch each day.  The meals are healthy, nutritious and prepared for a wide range of tastes.

Students in Grades 1 to 12 may purchase a meal plan if they wish to eat in the cafeteria.  To purchase a breakfast and/or lunch package for the school year, parents may contact the Admissions Office for more details or the Finance Office to make a payment.  Lunches cost approximately 28 CNY per meal and must be purchase as an annual meal plan.  Lunch is served in a buffet style that is all-you-can eat.

There are three food stations plus a salad/fruit bar in the main cafeteria.  A Western food line offers a meat dish, a vegetable dish, a potato dish, a pasta dish with either meat or vegetarian sauce, and a specialty item such as pizza which is baked in our own pizza oven.  An Asian line offers stir-fried noodle dishes, vegetable dishes and meat dishes in Chinese, Korean, Thai or other flavors.  White rice and soup are offered daily as well.  The third option is a noodle soup bar where each hearty bowl is custom made for each student.  Students with special dietary needs may contact the School Administration to arrange additional options.

Students are also welcome to bring their lunch from home each morning if they opt out of the LoveWay meal plan.  Students who bring their own lunches must bring them in the morning – parents should not interrupt classes to deliver lunches throughout the day.  Students are permitted to use the microwave available in the cafeteria to heat up their lunch.

Students may not order food from off campus.

Early Years students have breakfast, snacks and lunches provided for them in their classrooms by a separate kitchen operated by LoveWay in the EY building.  Early Years student lunches are included in their tuition fees.

Students in Grades 1 and 2 eat 11:30am daily and are served in their own buffet line tailored to their dietary needs.  Students in Grades 3 to 5 are able to select food from the main food stations beginning at 12:00pm.  MYP students eat at 11:30am and DP students eat at 11:00am.  Having different serving times ensures that students spend very little time waiting in the buffet line.  A face-scanning system is used at the start of each food line to record who is receiving lunch.  Only students who have paid for a meal plan may proceed through the line.

  • All food consumed must be eaten in the cafeteria, café, or the Plant Room.

  • Students are expected to clean up after themselves at meal or snack times.

The Lobby Cafe:

Only students in Grades 6-12 may purchase items from the Lobby Café.

No coffee will be sold to students.
