A fundraising activity ‘Cuts Against Cancer’ was initiated at CISH

In Middle School our student government president Matt Ucak initiated a fundraising activity, ‘Cuts Against Cancer’.
Matt Ucak did this as a special initiative. Matt sent out a letter to the school staff and the parents saying, ‘as a school, but more importantly, as a big family, we have to work together in order to make the world a better place and help people who are not as fortunate as we are.’ This, we believe is the one of the best outcomes regarding the IB learner profile. He sought some advice from teacher Derek Berthel.
According to Matt, to reach our ideals and mission, he invited everyone to hold a fundraising event on November 22nd for cancer struggles. The main goal of this event was to raise awareness and money for the non-profit organization Cuts Against Cancer.
Five voluntary teachers, Donavan Van Vuuren, David Turnbull, Derek Berthel, Devon Bobowski, Eric Mitchler and our student government president Matt Ucak cut their hair for student and parent donations. Many thanks to all of them for making this happen and our students, parents and teachers for their donations.
